Program Plan of Study

Program Description

Learners who complete the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Cybersecurity will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply current best practices in cybersecurity frameworks, IT governance, risk management, and vulnerability assessment. Students will distinguish how concepts of computer networking, digital forensics, and database technology relate to the cybersecurity domain. Students will demonstrate the ability to employ hacking and discovery tools as well as scripting languages. Biblical wisdom and Christian ethics are integrated into the coursework. Cybersecurity courses are designed to prepare learners for success on the CySA+, Network+, and Security+ Certification exams.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Distinguish how the concepts of computer networking fundamentals relate to the cybersecurity domain.

  • Model best practices utilized in cybersecurity frameworks.

  • Utilize a vulnerability assessment to secure a technology environment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate cogently on cybersecurity topics.

  • Apply biblical wisdom and Christian ethics to the field of cybersecurity.

  • Evaluate technical requirements for systems security solutions by applying appropriate information technology frameworks.

  • Employ various technologies to network system administration.

Admissions Requirements for this Program

  • Proof of high school graduation or GED certification.

  • Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

  • Prior completion of at least 60 transferable credit hours is required before the student is eligible to start the major courses. 

Graduation Requirements for this Program

  • Completion of 120 semester hours.

  • Completion of the required core courses and specialization courses with a GPA of 2.25 or higher.

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

  • Completion of 30 hours of general education requirements as specified (CAPS - General Education Requirements).

  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
