Program Description

The Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations of Mission-Driven Marketplace Leadership is comprised of core content from the undergraduate leadership degrees offered by Indiana Wesleyan University National & Global. The Foundations of Mission-Driven Marketplace Leadership certificate provides the opportunity for students to engage in and explore their personal and professional purpose and strengthen their leadership fundamentals to engage more effectively in Christian mission regardless of context or vocation. Beyond classroom study, learners will participate in a site-based leadership lab experience. These foundations create the anchors for effective mission-driven practice as well as for future study and academic pursuits.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Integrate leadership perspectives into personal and professional purpose

  • Articulate a foundational perspective on life purpose.

  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities related to leading self and others.

Admissions Requirements for this Program

  • Accepted as regular degree-seeking student or as an unclassified student.

  • Unclassified student requires proof of high school graduation.

  • Associated with a partner institution of the IWU Bridge Initiative. Use elsewhere must be approved by the Program Director or Division Chair.

Additional Requirements for this Program

  • Due to credit overlap restrictions as stated in the IWU Policy on Academic Credentials, students who earn the Foundations of Mission-Driven Marketplace Leadership undergraduate certificate cannot also earn the Foundations of Mission-Driven Christian Leadership undergraduate certificate.

  • Students who earn the Foundations of Mission-Driven Marketplace Leadership undergraduate certificate may subsequently pursue the Applied Mission-Driven Leadership undergraduate certificate and/or apply credits toward other relevant IWU degree programs.

Graduation Requirements for this Program

  • Completion of 18 semester hours from the courses specified in the certificate program

  • Minimum grade of “C” in each course.

  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a certificate.
