Program Description
The Chemistry ACS program is certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and meets rigorous standards set for graduates of premier programs. As such, this program is very similar to the existing BS Chemistry degree, but with the added requirements that fulfill the accreditation requirements of ACS. The accredited degree benefits graduates by designating their robust training on their transcript when applying to potential professional schools and employers. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry ACS is designed for majors who plan to pursue graduate level work in chemistry, biochemistry, medicine, or related interdisciplinary areas. This degree requires 67 hours of coursework, which is met by taking a minimum of 50 hours in chemistry and 17 hours of cognate (prerequisite) courses listed below.
