Program Description

Psychology courses are designed to give students a solid foundation in the discipline, and broad exposure to several areas of psychology in an effort to provide students with many career options. Students may choose to pursue careers in mental health, school guidance, clinical psychology, teaching, human resources, or further graduate study. A strong emphasis is made on integrating principles of Christianity and psychology and promoting their practical application.

Admissions Requirements for this Program

Admission to the Psychology Major

Admission to the Psychology major requires a formal screening process separate from initial declaration of intent to major in Psychology. The process includes successfully passing PSY-290, completion of an application and an interview after completion of at least seven hours of lower-level psychology courses.

Personal Qualities

Students must evidence virtuous character representative of the Christian principles on which Indiana Wesleyan University is established.

The Psychology Department faculty reserves the right to deny any admission to the major who in its judgment fails to demonstrate adequate academic, personal, or pre-professional effectiveness.
