Program Description

Honors Humanities is a rigorous interdisciplinary major that satisfies the general education requirements for John Wesley and Luther Lee Scholars. By completing the Honors Humanities major, John Wesley and Luther Lee Scholars fulfill IWU's general education requirements and competency and proficiency requirements for graduation with a bachelor's degree.

The Honors Humanities major may not be taken as a stand-alone major. Honors Humanities is offered as a complementary major that provides interdisciplinary preparation for a more holistic and meaningful engagement of a particular field of study.

Admission to the Honors Humanities major is only open to students enrolled in the John Wesley or Luther Lee Scholars programs. Successful completion of the Honors Humanities major is a requirement for graduation from IWU with honors distinction as a John Wesley or Luther Lee Scholar. Students must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.0 GPA in their coursework in the Honors Humanities major.
